Brighten Things Up This Christmas

The time of year has come when you venture up to the attic to dig

out your boxes of baubles and tinsel . However, for a

fun look, why not buy a handful of novelty decorations to add them to

those you already have ? Most of us like to stick to the same key colours at

Christmas, such a classic red and gold or elegant silver and white, but

just adding a London telephone box or a peacock feather to your tree

can make it special without a big change to your look or budget . Follow our guide to shaking up your Christmas

decor with some quirky tree decorations . Group novelty baubles on your tree in threes or fives for a

sense of order, and make sure you stick to one theme . Why not try this

season's on-trend woodland look, or go patriotic with a Union Jack

theme ?. Fancy being

a little creative ? Make your own Christmas cards this year

using novelty decorations . Not only will this save you money, but it

means you can give something very personlised to your friends and

family . Just think of the level of satisfaction you will feel

having achieved this . Simply hunt out a selection of baubles that

you like, ensuring that they are flat, stick them on to folded card with

glue or double-sided tape and send to friends and family . We

all love those piles of beautifully wrapped presents under the tree,

but make them extra special by attaching a bauble or two with a

ribbon  .

It'll make the pressies stand out even more, as well as adding lots of

colour and pattern . Baubles

aren't just for the tree . Venture into the dining room with your novelty

decorations and use them as quirky napkin rings . Use the baubles' string to fasten to each napkin .And last but not least remember a few scented candles like the ones made by Yankee candles  to give your home a real sense of comfort
